Our Vision and Values at Lee Stream School
At Lee Stream School, we may be a small school, but we’re a big whānau! As a PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school, we believe in creating a positive, welcoming environment where each student feels like family. Our vision is to inspire confident, capable learners who are ready to make a difference. Our values guide us in everything we do, from learning in the classroom to playing in the schoolyard.
Our Six Values:
Ako (To Teach, To Learn)
Learning goes both ways in our big whānau! At Lee Stream, students, teachers, and families all have something valuable to teach and learn from one another. Every day is a chance to grow together.
Kaitiakitanga (Guardianship of Our Place)
We’re proud of our beautiful environment and do our best to look after it. Kaitiakitanga reminds us to take care of our surroundings and each other, leaving a legacy of respect and care.
Manaakitanga (Respect)
Manaakitanga is at the heart of Lee Stream School. Respect for one another, kindness, and support are part of our school culture. We create a space where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Rangatiratanga (Leadership)
In our one-class school, everyone has the chance to lead! Rangatiratanga is about being responsible, taking the initiative, and setting a good example for others.
Whanaungatanga (Relationships)
We’re all connected at Lee Stream School. Whanaungatanga is about building strong relationships with friends, family, and the wider community. It’s what makes our small school feel like a big family.
Mahi Tahi (Teamwork)
We achieve more when we work together. Mahi Tahi is all about pitching in as a team. Whether we’re taking on projects, learning something new, or celebrating success, teamwork is central to our school spirit.
These values aren’t just words—they’re what make Lee Stream School such a special place to learn and grow. Every day, our students bring our values to life as part of our supportive, close-knit whānau. We may be a small school, but we’re all working together to make a big impact!
